How to burn fat and not your cash? Introducing cheap diets

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

Cheap diets are hard to find. Let’s face it, dieting can be a costly business.
If you are looking for cheap diets, you might be disappointed.
The problem is this:
Fatty food is usually cheaper then healthy foods or low fat foods.
Dieting aids are usually expensive.
A diet program that includes instruction of any sort is expensive too.
Training in a gym means a monthly fee which alleviates expanses.
All of these can build up to burn a hole in you bank account.
Obviously, going on a diet does not happen in a void.
Yes, a lot of us have weight issues,
But a lot more of us have money issues.
You should not feel bad for looking for cheap diets.
Actually, money problems and concerns can actually disrupt your diet.
Eventually, if you’re looking for cheap diets,
You’ll have to create them yourself.
Here are some tips that will help you:
#1 Avoid unnecessary products
Our fast lives dictate that we buy ready made products.
The problem is: readymade low fat products are expensive.
Instead, try to find good recipes and invest the time on cooking your own food.
You might even find out you’re a better cook then you thought!
Also, avoid organic foods.
Even though organic got a lot of buzz lately,
A recent research found that there is no big difference health wise between this kind of food and regular food.
The major difference is that regular food is cheaper.
Most importantly, you should cut down on leisurely products.
By leisurely products I don’t mean caviar,
I mean sweetened beverages,
Ice cream and visits at the local restaurant.
Avoid these and you’ll significantly cut down expenses.
#2 create your own diet program
Instead of buying trendy dieting aids and starting fancy diet programs,
You can just as well create your own diet program.
This just might be easier that it sounds.
True, you are probably not experts on the matter,
That’s why a lot of people go to specialists that will dictate a proper diet for them and advise them along the way.
But you can become experts on your own.
There’s plenty of information available online about cheap diets.
And you can buy a decent book that costs no more then 20$-40$ that can be used as a proper guide.
This will most certainly help you in the search for cheap diets.
#3 You don’t need to go to the gym
For a lot of people, going to the gym is a favorable option.
The whole training atmosphere can give you motivation to do a proper workout and race for your target weight.
But if you’re looking for cheap diets then the gym is one of the first things that you should scratch off your list,
Since they are usually fairly expensive.
Instead, you have to find the way to do your workout at home.
This is easier then it sounds.
Walking and running is always available (no expenses on going outside!),
As well as sit-ups and push ups. You can even do a cardio workout in front of your TV set.
The problem is only your motivation,
Find ways to get yourself motivated and you can save on going to the gym.
To sum,
If you want to find cheap diets and cut costs of your weight loss program,
You will have to trust yourself.
It’s not easy but it’s possible.
I hope this will help you out,

How to create my own personal diet plan?

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

When there are so many diets plans to choose from,
You may be surprised to know that the best one is none of them.
The best one is your own personal diet plan.
If you’ve tried dieting before and been around people who diet like I have,
You should have already noticed the variety of diets and methods out there.
There are enough diet plans to make us believe there must be one diet plan perfect for us.
Well, that may just be true.
But are you willing to go through all of them to find out?
I definitely don’t expect you to.
Since a readymade diet is never really tailored to your specific needs, body or mind set, it will almost certainly be less than a perfect match.
A diet plan that doesn’t fit you can be frustrating. And frustration from your diet is a sure recipe for quitting your diet.
I can however offer you an interesting alternative:
Make your own personal diet plan.
Sounds tough, doesn’t it?
It shouldn’t.
All you need is the right knowledge, and this knowledge is everywhere.
You can read some diet books, have some sessions with a professional dietician or surf the web just like you’re doing now.
Any of the above will get you this knowledge if you are willing to look for it.
But of course, I don’t expect you to be better than the pros, so there are a couple of courses you can take.
The first option is for the more serious folks out there and you don’t have to do it if you feel like it’s too hard.
You can make your own personal diet plan with no assistance at all
Start from the basics – learn about carbs and the effects of different sorts of foods on the body,
Then move to meal plans and exercise plans.
I can assure you, it’s not simple and it takes some time,
But after you’re done, you have a real chance to make a change in your life.
And better than that, you can start helping others.
The bottom line is: achievable but will definitely require some time and lots of knowledge.
If you don’t think you’re up for this challenge,
You don’t have to make your personal diet plan from scratch.
Just take an existing diet plan and tweak it to fit your own needs.
If you have the necessary knowledge, you can easily transform a boring diet to a nice and easy one.
So go ahead, and make your favorite personal diet plan, it will be much easier to keep up with when you can change it to your liking.
The bottom line: totally doable and very effective.
Anywhere between these two options is also a possibility,
For example, you can make the meal plan on your own and tweak an existing exercise program to fit it.
You can start on your own then make the final touches with a certified pro.
The important point is: your own personal diet plan is definitely the best diet plan out there.

Should I create my own personal diet plan?

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

There are lots of diet plans out there,
You can try them one by one,
You can choose carefully and find the right one for you.
But what about making your own personal diet plan?
People have two normal reactions to this idea.
One of them is “why make my own when there is so many out there?”
And the other is “I’m not a professional, I can’t do it on my own”
Both reactions are legitimate, but are they accurate?
No. They are not.
Of course, I’m not expecting anyone to do guess work throughout their diet and I’m not expecting anyone to accidentally find a perfect diet.
What I’m saying is: you can do it, if you acquire the correct knowledge.
Let’s start with that knowledge then.
I believe you should gather a lot of knowledge before you start your diet.
Even if you follow a very specific diet plan, you better off understanding it rather than just following it blindly.
This knowledge is the most important thing in your diet,
And it will become handy in many situations during your diet.
So, get this knowledge wherever you can, it is really not that hard.
After the knowledge part, there is still the “why do I need my own personal diet plan?” question.
And the reason is simple:
Everyone is different; the diets that will work for me won’t always work for you.
Of course, the more generic a diet plan is, the more people it will fit to some degree.
But it also means that there is some individual needs that you have which won’t get enough attention.
Of course we only hear about the success stories.
But think of it this way: generic programs are more appealing.
The more people trying this generic diet, the more success stories there are - even if the overall success rate is low.
And also: what if this specific diet is not for you?
So you can go on searching for the one that will work or make a personal diet plan that will fit you.
Now, since you are gathering knowledge anyway, you might as well use it for making your own personal diet plan.
There are many advantages to a personal diet plan.
You can make it easier for you.
Easier is not the equivalent of less effective, like many people may think.
If you know yourself and you have enough of the right knowledge, you can make a personal diet plan that will be easy for you.
It won’t necessarily be easy for anyone, but the point is, it will be easy for you.
You can also plan it to fit your schedule more than any other random diet.
You can avoid anything you dislike in a diet by replacing it with something else.
For example, you can balance the carbohydrates/proteins ratio according to what you like to eat.
The point is, there is no reason not to make your own personal diet plan,
Really, it’s easier than you think.

How to decide on starting a diet

Friday, August 14th, 2009

A lot has been said about how to go on with a diet,

but when you think of it just starting a diet is takes a complete and comprehensive decision making process.

I believe that the first moment you are knowingly starting a diet is very important.

It should be a moment filled with hope and confidence, not fear or doubt.

You shouldn’t feel pressured or obligated in any way,

This should be a positive decision that you alone are responsible for.

The reason I’m stressing these point is that there are so many people who start a diet while doubting their own ability to succeed are bound to fail very quickly.

If you want to reach the starting point of your diet in high spirits,

There are some steps to be taken: First of all, dieting is about knowledge more than anything else,

It’s knowing what you eat, what you should eat,

What does your food contain, what your body needs and most importantly,

knowing yourself. Make sure you approach your diet with as few questions marks as possible,

do all your research before your first dieting day.

Don’t rush into it, don’t say: “I know enough to start, I’ll pick up the rest as I go” This is not true,

The most likely thing to happen, what usually happens, is that you will go through your diet without enriching your knowledge at all.

You’ll see that when you’re on a diet you would have to concentrate mostly on keeping up with it.

And even if you succeed in keeping up - your diet won’t be as effective as it could be. Think of the knowledge gathering stage of your diet like a movie: When you reach the end,

all the strands of information from the beginning make perfect sense, So reach the end,

get all the information you need then make your commitment to your diet.

Another very important issue is choosing the right diet.

You can’t just jump into any diet even after you understood it completely,

This could turn out as an utter waste of time.

These days there are so many diets out there,

no reason for you to just use the first thing you see.

If you did the knowledge gathering part correctly, you will find this second part a lot easier,

Now you should just find a diet which is the most compatible with your life and character.

You should take in account the fact that short term diets will mostly drive you crazy and make you suffer so try and take those out of the equation.

Regarding all other diets, I could go on and on about what’s good and what’s better But in truth, it’s all about you and what you can and can’t do.

We have a tendency to be over motivated before we start a diet and believe that we can do anything, try to avoid that and be true to yourself, Think about your toughest day in the past week and ask yourself if you could keep your diet on such a day.

It will give you a more accurate evaluation of what you can do right now. I hope you’ll find out what’s good for you and go on to make it happen.

Good luck,

How to choose the most fitting weight loss program?

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

There are lots of weight loss programs out there, many of them parade many success stories.
So how do you choose the best weight loss program for you?
Let’s start at the beginning and understand some basic notions,
You need to know the difference between long term diets and short term diets:
Short term diets will not always inform you that they are short term diets but you can identify them with ease.
Short term diets are distinguished by very high expectations pressed into a very short amount of time,
These diets will tell you that they can make you lose 50 pounds in the first month or two,
But they won’t tell you what happens afterwards.
Keep in mind that those diets really only work for the first months - mostly because they offer unbalanced meal plans that are far from intended to better your health.
Short term diets are also a lot more extreme, and have many restrictions.
They mostly contain instructions like: don’t eat after 6 pm, don’t eat any X, eat only X, eat only two meals a day, etc.
These diets are to be avoided.
Long term diets are diets you should adapt to and then integrate with you day to day life.
This type of diet is a more healthy one, however, it takes longer to see it’s results.
You can identify long term diets by judging how realistic the expected results are and how radical you have to be to get these results.
When you are not asked to do very unordinary things to keep up with the diet,
It probably means it is planned for the long run.
When you attempt to select the best program for yourself you need to take several parameters into account,
First, be realistic, don’t take on a diet you can’t really succeed with.
It is very easy to slip and tell yourself “yes, I can do this and that” and “it can’t be that hard”
But when you’re in it for the long run you need to be comfortable with your diet.
After you select a realistic diet you need to think of the Will Power Factor.
The will power factor is very simple: the more will power you need, the closer your next fall is.
Don’t try to prove yourself by doing something very hard, just do what you know will come easy and comfortably to you.
The next thing is selecting the meal plan,
Meal plans are the backbone of any diet, so you need to select it very carefully.
Most weight loss programs come with a built in meal plan which fits the program best.
So you may want to select a program according to the meal plan.
Same as when selecting a diet program, try to select meal plan that is right for you,
Don’t get a meal plan that requires you to cook a lot if you don’t have the time for it,
Don’t get a meal plan which requires expensive ingredients if you don’t want to invest a lot of money.
You get the point, get the meal plan that fits you.
I hope you go and select the best weight loss program for you and invest your time in something that is more likely to get results.

Good Luck

What is a diet anyway?

Monday, June 15th, 2009

The word diet is very meaningful to a lot of people,
But do you know what is it exactly?
By definition being on a diet means knowing and planning what you eat.
One common misconception is that diet means starving, fasting, or enduring suffering of different sorts. It does not mean that. These bad connotations are merely deformed ways of dieting.
It may include the withholding of certain foods but that depends on your diet, and it most often will include adding certain foods to your daily menu.
A second misconception revolves around the planning of a diet. Put simple - planning a diet is no simple task,
To plan a diet one needs to have a lot of knowledge in his/her possession.
It’s not enough to knowing what foods are fatty and which are not,
You also have to know the structure of different foods,
And the effect of every type of food on our metabolism.
This is why you need to gather a lot of knowledge in order to plan your own diet.
Of course you always have the option of using a professional to plan your diet for you.
A third misconception: Diet is not a synonym to weight loss,
There are different kinds of diets and weight loss diet is only one of them.
Weight gain diet:
Weight gain diet is mostly used by athletes and body builders.
It is used to gain weight for muscle building and bulking up for all kind of reasons.
The point is not only eating whatever you want and get fat.
It’s planning a menu to help the body gain the weight correctly & healthily.
Weight control diet:
For some people keeping their weight is a big issue.
This kind of diet is designed to help people not gain and not lose weight.
It is often used by people who lost weight successfully but are afraid to gain the weight back.
It is also used by people who do aerobic activities regularly and do not want to lose weight & muscle.
Weight loss diet:
The most common of all diets,
Used by overweight people all around the world with the sole purpose of losing fat.
Weight loss diets can be very different.
There are many approaches regarding what is the best/fastest/healthiest way to lose fat.
There are some very radical diets that require serious discipline and devotion.
For example there is the “no-carb” diet,
This diet is currently debated all over the world because of the importance of carbohydrates to all the body’s functions.
There are weight loss diets that revolve around eating a lot of a specific food like lettuce, other vegetables or even ice cream.
Alongside with the “normal” diets we can see the pills, powders, oils and all kinds of food additives.
These are diets that you should be very careful with,
Some of them are totally unhealthy and mostly there results can be reproduced with a natural and healthy diet.
In short, changing your diet is not something to be taken lightly. A wrong kind of diet might actually be harmful.
I hope I helped you get a better understanding on what is a diet,

Good Luck,
David.

4 Crucial Tools to Start Losing Weight

Sunday, May 3rd, 2009

As you must have already understood, losing weight is no simple task.
I can say I’m positive that 99% of my readers have tried at least 2-3 methods up until now.
So I gathered the 4 most important tools that in my opinion are a must in an effort to lose weight:
1. Mind set – there is definitely nothing more important than that, you can exercise every day, have a great plan and never get a permanent result.
You have to think as a thin person, you have to let yourself be that thin person and really imagine how it feels every day.
This way you actually move towards this image of yourself and you have a positive motivation as opposed to negative motivation which is driven from poor self image.
So the very first step is letting yourself be thin in mind thus letting the body follow.
2. A complete plan – many dieting people do not have one complete plan, they rely on the knowledge they have gathered while trying to lose weight over the years.
Now, I’m not saying this knowledge is useless, in fact, having this knowledge has it’s own rewards.
But on the other hand, mixed (and sometimes miscomprehended) information does not equal one complete system that takes care of all the process of dieting.
Having a full comprehensive program is crucial for a successful diet, it is so important that your menu and exercise are connected and working in synergy with each other.
You must be aware that information picked up over the years can very often have conflicts within itself which can harm your weight loss efforts
3. Self discipline – ok, this one is a bit obvious. It is of course not relevant only to your diet but to everything you want to accomplish.
When you don’t have a personal trainer (which I never had) you must be your own.
You have to look at yourself as if any little thing can make you slip away from your diet.
I suggest reading other people’s diet related blogs for reassurance (if you need it).
I found it very helpful to communicate with people how are going through the same difficulties as you and not everyone has such people around himself in the offline world.
4. Positivity – Yes, the icing on the cake, the last puzzle piece.
Don’t suffer, don’t punish yourself, keep sane (you can add your own words to the list…)
You don’t have to remind yourself how fat and ugly you are, go through your diet system (whichever you choose) with a smile on your face!
I can’t stress that enough, make yourself smile, it is so worth it, it makes everything so much easier.
Always look at how much progress you made and not how much more you’ll have to make.
Believe me, if you have these 4 tools it doesn’t matter which diet you choose, how much weight you want to lose and how many times you have failed before.
There is no way to fail with the right mindset, a complete plan, some self discipline and a positive spirit.
Good Luck,
David H. Mason
