How to decide on starting a diet
A lot has been said about how to go on with a diet,
but when you think of it just starting a diet is takes a complete and comprehensive decision making process.
I believe that the first moment you are knowingly starting a diet is very important.
It should be a moment filled with hope and confidence, not fear or doubt.
You shouldn’t feel pressured or obligated in any way,
This should be a positive decision that you alone are responsible for.
The reason I’m stressing these point is that there are so many people who start a diet while doubting their own ability to succeed are bound to fail very quickly.
If you want to reach the starting point of your diet in high spirits,
There are some steps to be taken: First of all, dieting is about knowledge more than anything else,
It’s knowing what you eat, what you should eat,
What does your food contain, what your body needs and most importantly,
knowing yourself. Make sure you approach your diet with as few questions marks as possible,
do all your research before your first dieting day.
Don’t rush into it, don’t say: “I know enough to start, I’ll pick up the rest as I go” This is not true,
The most likely thing to happen, what usually happens, is that you will go through your diet without enriching your knowledge at all.
You’ll see that when you’re on a diet you would have to concentrate mostly on keeping up with it.
And even if you succeed in keeping up - your diet won’t be as effective as it could be. Think of the knowledge gathering stage of your diet like a movie: When you reach the end,
all the strands of information from the beginning make perfect sense, So reach the end,
get all the information you need then make your commitment to your diet.
Another very important issue is choosing the right diet.
You can’t just jump into any diet even after you understood it completely,
This could turn out as an utter waste of time.
These days there are so many diets out there,
no reason for you to just use the first thing you see.
If you did the knowledge gathering part correctly, you will find this second part a lot easier,
Now you should just find a diet which is the most compatible with your life and character.
You should take in account the fact that short term diets will mostly drive you crazy and make you suffer so try and take those out of the equation.
Regarding all other diets, I could go on and on about what’s good and what’s better But in truth, it’s all about you and what you can and can’t do.
We have a tendency to be over motivated before we start a diet and believe that we can do anything, try to avoid that and be true to yourself, Think about your toughest day in the past week and ask yourself if you could keep your diet on such a day.
It will give you a more accurate evaluation of what you can do right now. I hope you’ll find out what’s good for you and go on to make it happen.
Good luck,
