4 Crucial Tools to Start Losing Weight

As you must have already understood, losing weight is no simple task.
I can say I’m positive that 99% of my readers have tried at least 2-3 methods up until now.
So I gathered the 4 most important tools that in my opinion are a must in an effort to lose weight:
1. Mind set – there is definitely nothing more important than that, you can exercise every day, have a great plan and never get a permanent result.
You have to think as a thin person, you have to let yourself be that thin person and really imagine how it feels every day.
This way you actually move towards this image of yourself and you have a positive motivation as opposed to negative motivation which is driven from poor self image.
So the very first step is letting yourself be thin in mind thus letting the body follow.
2. A complete plan – many dieting people do not have one complete plan, they rely on the knowledge they have gathered while trying to lose weight over the years.
Now, I’m not saying this knowledge is useless, in fact, having this knowledge has it’s own rewards.
But on the other hand, mixed (and sometimes miscomprehended) information does not equal one complete system that takes care of all the process of dieting.
Having a full comprehensive program is crucial for a successful diet, it is so important that your menu and exercise are connected and working in synergy with each other.
You must be aware that information picked up over the years can very often have conflicts within itself which can harm your weight loss efforts
3. Self discipline – ok, this one is a bit obvious. It is of course not relevant only to your diet but to everything you want to accomplish.
When you don’t have a personal trainer (which I never had) you must be your own.
You have to look at yourself as if any little thing can make you slip away from your diet.
I suggest reading other people’s diet related blogs for reassurance (if you need it).
I found it very helpful to communicate with people how are going through the same difficulties as you and not everyone has such people around himself in the offline world.
4. Positivity – Yes, the icing on the cake, the last puzzle piece.
Don’t suffer, don’t punish yourself, keep sane (you can add your own words to the list…)
You don’t have to remind yourself how fat and ugly you are, go through your diet system (whichever you choose) with a smile on your face!
I can’t stress that enough, make yourself smile, it is so worth it, it makes everything so much easier.
Always look at how much progress you made and not how much more you’ll have to make.
Believe me, if you have these 4 tools it doesn’t matter which diet you choose, how much weight you want to lose and how many times you have failed before.
There is no way to fail with the right mindset, a complete plan, some self discipline and a positive spirit.
Good Luck,
David H. Mason

Thanks for such a positive post on sticking to diets.

I believe it is definitely important for people to take stock of their achievements as they go along and congratulate themselves on their weight loss progress. I am by no means 100% impressed with my body, however I do always find the positives before I sit down and think about what I would like to tackle next. I look forward to reading more of your blog.
